With the warmer months just around the corner we can finally stop discussing the cold, rainy days and start focussing on summer holidays, sunshine and days at the beach. Rejoice! And to get us in the mood for summer, here are our top ten sun-filled, summer-loving music videos.
Shot on location in Rio De Janeiro, where the beaches are arguably some of the most famous in the world, Snoop Dogg and Pharrell’s video for “Beautiful” inspires dreams of lounging on the sand with a caipirinha in hand. In other words, heaven.
For the epitome of a sexy summer video look no further than Aaliyah’s last ever music video for “Rock the Boat”, filmed in the Bahamas. Images of white bikinis, sun-drenched beaches and crystal clear waters is enough to make us buy a one-way ticket.

Kicking back at a sun-drenched block party is Beyonce in the video for “Party”. Dancing in the streets, playing on a lilo in a blow up swimming pool with inflatables and squirting silly string, she’s got the summer party started. Even Queen Bey’s top has an ice cream on it…
We’re back to 1999 now with LFO’s “Summer Girls”, another video about summer romance. Filmed on a boardwalk amongst free wheeling, break dancing, a Ferris wheel and plenty of skimpy summer clothing the video ends with the party running into the sea as the sun goes down. The perfect end to any summer’s day.
A colourful explosion of jungle print shirts, flowers and blue and purple skies “Feels” is perhaps the brightest summer video on our list. As if that’s not enough colour here’s even a pair of parrot. A psychedelic overload, and the perfect way to chase away any remaining winter blues.
Who didn’t have a crush on Rachel Hunter in the video for “Stacy’s Mom” by Fountains of Wayne? Sending temperatures soaring when it was released in 2003 heart-shaped glasses and swimming pools collide with summer dreaming in this summer sizzler.
It wouldn’t be a summer playlist without some 80s Madonna and “Get Into the Groove”, which was originally for the film Desperately Seeking Susan is the perfect summer dance anthem. The club scene complete with 80s dancewear is the cherry on top of one of the Queen of Pop’s most fun videos.
